Sleepy Creepy

Our little man makes the weirdest noises when he sleeps.  He snores, grunts, whimpers and so many other indescribable noises.  He also makes funny faces when he sleeps.  He pouts, smiles, cries and sighs like it's been a hard day at the office.

Seriously, we don't even watch TV anymore.  We just stare at him and laugh.  This video doesn't even compare to the hours of entertainment Brock can provide.

Battle of the Thrush

Poor Brock has had Thrush (a yeast infection, common in new borns in his mouth) since he was one week old.  We've been to the doctor several times for follow up treatment to no avail.  The comforting news is that he doesn't really know he's sick and its not necessarily painful.  At least that is what they tell us.   

Today he will start his third dosage of oral medication.  The first two (Nystatin) didn't work so we're trying a different medication this time around.  Wish us luck!

Calvin and Brock

Our friends the Farhi's had a little boy about three weeks after Brock named Calvin.  We are destined for the boys to grow up together.

Brian (Calvin's dad) graduated from Cal with his MBA last weekend.  Can you imagine wrapping up a three year MBA program with a newborn?

Meeting Traci

Our friend Traci was in town on business and had the chance to meet Brock in person. From the minute they locked eyes, he was in love with her.  What's not to love?  Traci is energetic, kind, funny, intelligent and an overall amazing person. 

Next time we get together we're hoping Brock can meet Traci's new furry baby, Dakota, a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.

Roadtrip!

Kari bought an adorable condo in San Diego's fun-in-the sun neighborhood of Pacific Beach.  What a great excuse to christen the condo and have her meet her nephew. 

We decided to break up the trip into several days which in hindsight was perfect. 

Day One:
Our first stop was in Paso Robles about a 3.5 hour drive from us. After a fairly restful night in our hotel, we popped over to one of our favorite wineries, Linne Calodo to pick up our wine club shipment and have a little taste.  Whitney, a long-time employee welcomed us with her usual smile. 

Day Two:
We made it to Oxnard so Brock could hang out with his grandparents and we could all drive in one car the next morning to Kari's in San Diego.

Day Three:
Alas!  We arrived in San Diego!  Kari's condo is absolutely adorable and it looked like the designers from HGTV came in and decorated.  But,it was all Kari with her sassy eye for style.  Great job, sis!  I want your rug...

While in San Diego:

Our awesome relatives came to celebrate Kari's new condo and meet Brock.  Another perfect sunny day in San Diego celebrating good times with our loving family, drinking tasty margaritas, and devouring savory tacos (thanks, Linda!). Pure. Bliss.

Day Four:
A long drive back to Palo Alto but Brock was a champion.  This kid is destined for easy travel, which is exactly what we were hoping for.
