Month 13

I haven't been around a lot these past few weeks to capture Brock in his 13th month.  But, I do have a few pictures to show you all (Mom) just how big he's getting.  Don't you just want to squeeze him?

Sitting up like a big boy
He's giggling in this picture.  He's always giggling...
 Too cool in his shades!
 Playing with his puzzles
Mom, I can eat all by myself.  See?!?
I'm going to hold my breath until you kiss me!
Okay, he doesn't look super cute in this picture.  He's looking up at me and talking.  Let's just focus on the adorable outfit from the Sherg's.

Toddler in Training

Much to my chagrin, Brock won't stop growing!  Where has the time gone?  I swear it was just last week we brought our little bundle home from the hospital.  Then, blink, he's 13 1/2 months old!

I hate to admit this, but he's becoming a toddler.  Ouch, my heart just ached a little...

Milestones galore!

Work/Life balance is a bit out of control these days so this post will be short.

The past two weeks are chock full of milestones:
  • Brock is starting to hold utensils
  • Eat whole/larger pieces of food (translation:  I can hand him a stick of string cheese and throw him in the BOB so I can get in a morning run)
  • Is getting his 7th tooth (bottom right) and possibly a molar but he won't let me stick my finger in there to inspect.
  • Can wave and say "hi", "bye" and Lyra (Beth & Dave's dog)
  • Oh, and he took his first steps!
My only regret is that I've been working so darn much I missed out on the first official steps.  It happened threedays ago.  Our nanny, Cris, told me he took 6 steps.  But tonight, I got an encore presentation and it was wonderful.

Stay tuned mid-June when life (hopefully) becomes less hectic and I have more time to post!  Until then, enjoy our little bundle of fun in the vertical form.

Weekend of fun

In between a mini road trip to pick up our bi-annual shipment of Carlisle, we had some quality Brock time this weekend.

The weather was quite agreeable, which allowed us to spend time outside soaking up the sunshine.  We took the stroller out for a walk/jog, ate lunch on the front lawn, played in the backyard and touched every flower along the way.

Weekends go by too fast. I'm glad that even though we were rushing around to do loads of laundry, grocery shop and fix a broken sprinkler, we still managed to have loads of fun with our sweet baby boy.

Is it Friday yet?

One Year Check-Up

Brock had his one year check-up yesterday.  Overall, his health is fantastic. The only thing our physician was concerned about was his weight.  He lost weight since our last appointment.  But, in all fairness, he's also been sick for about two weeks with a cold and his usually hearty appetite has been lost.  He just started feeling better yesterday and sure enough, he ate like a champ.  We are confident his weight will bounce back in no time.

Aside from the four shots, the appointment was a huge success.  Poor kid was crying so hard tears were rolling down his cheeks but he couldn't make any real sounds - just those breath holding squeaks.  My heart ached for hours after that.

Here are his vitals from day one and one year later...

I'm ONE!

Today is Brock's first birthday!

Yesterday we had a gathering of friends and family over to celebrate his special day with a BBQ and a special chocolate cupcake! Fortunately, he didn't seemed to interested in sugar.  Phew!

Brock had too much fun playing with his pals while the adults enjoyed sliders and wine.

Happy Birthday, Brocky. You are an incredible joy we love you!
